Dr. James Clark earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He then completed his subspecialty training with a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center.
After his fellowship, Dr. Clark joined the faculty at Rush Medical College. There, he actively taught medical students, residents, and GI fellows, helping to shape the next generation of physicians. Advocate Physician Partners (APP) recognized him as an Exemplary Physician for his dedication to patient care and education.
Dr. Clark is board-certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He treats a wide range of digestive conditions. However, he has a special interest in GERD, dysphagia, Barrett’s esophagus, and H. pylori infections. He also focuses on liver diseases, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
In addition, Dr. Clark performs advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy (EGD), video capsule endoscopy, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy. He also has experience in esophageal motility testing (manometry), pH testing, tissue sampling, and infrared coagulation of hemorrhoids.
With a strong background in both clinical care and medical education, Dr. Clark delivers expert, patient-centered GI care.
