Dr. Nicole Gentile, MD
Dr. Nicole Gentile completed her internal medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic and her fellowship at the University of Chicago Northshore. Dr. Gentile’s passion and specialty interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease is deeply rooted in her training at the Mayo Clinic where she started her research in microscopic colitis.
Dr. Gentile continues to practice her passion for evidence-based medicine and teaching. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and Research Director for the internal medicine residency at Mercy Health.
Dr. Gentile’s clinical specialty interest is Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and Microscopic Colitis as well as women’s health as it relates to gastroenterology. She also practices general gastroenterology. In clinical practice, Dr. Gentile believes the best part of her day is listening to her patients’ stories as she helps navigate and guide them through disease evaluation and treatment. Particularly as a specialist in inflammatory bowel disease, Dr. Gentile believes in building long-lasting relationships with her patients. She wants to make sure her patients know they will be supported and her goal at the end of the visit is to make sure the patient feels well listened to and comfortable with the plan of care. Dr. Gentile has had the honor of caring for many patients and families throughout her career.
