Dr. Ajay Bajaj, MD
Dr. Bajaj is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist who is currently accepting new patients. His certifications include Internal Medicine along with the Subspecialty Board of Gastroenterology, and American Board of Internal Medicine. He is active as a fellow with the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Bajaj is proficient in every aspect of gastroenterology, including diagnostic procedures like EGD, colonoscopy, and ERCP as well as management of all gastrointestinal conditions, with a special interest in hepatobiliary disease. He is a lifelong learner and constantly pursuing self-improvement, and he recently trained in endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Dr. Bajaj takes an interest in medical education and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at both the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. His practice philosophy involves taking care of each patient as a unique individual using the biopsychosocial model of medicine. He has been practicing since 1993.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys travel, core conditioning, and spending time with his wife and his two children, both of whom chose a career in medicine after being inspired by his example.
